Our new care home in Thatcham will have 60 bedrooms and provide specialist care for older people diagnosed with dementia. The site is located in the centre of Thatcham, on the A4 between Newbury and Reading. There are good road links to the surrounding area. The home is within walking distance of local shops and post offices and is a short walk to the main bus route between Reading and Newbury.
This home has been designed specifically to meet the needs of elderly residents with dementia, and extends over three floors. Each of the 60 single bedrooms has en-suite facilities with a hand basin, WC and shower. All bedrooms are for single occupancy, and some of the ground floor rooms will have access via patio doors onto the landscaped areas. Bedrooms will have flat screen televisions and access to freeview in their rooms. Modern safety features are fitted in each room and include a 24 hour nurse call system, thermostatic control and smoke detectors. The under floor heating system will add an extra dimension of comfort.
The ground floor offers 20 bedrooms, a lounge and dining area and an additional lounge, whilst the first floor consists of 20 bedrooms, a lounge and dining area, an additional lounge and a hair salon. The second floor has a dedicated activities area. Each lounge will have access to Sky TV; the larger lounges will also have large flat screen televisions. The lounges, dining rooms and quiet areas will be comfortable and well furnished, providing a meeting place for residents to relax and entertain guests. We know how important it is to keep in touch with friends and relatives, so our door will be always open.
At Thatcham Court we will be able to offer care to suit individual needs. Long term care for those who need daily specialist nursing dementia care; respite dementia care to enable carers to take a much deserved break, and post operative care. Copies of the policies and procedures will be available from the home manager, for viewing by residents, families and friends.

Located close to Bevendean, this home will provide care to residents with dementia. The site is located on Warren Road in a residential area, approximately two and a half miles from the centre of Brighton.
Set in the rural Hampshire town of Church Crookham, near to Fleet and Farnham, this new home will have 60 bedrooms and offer care to older people with dementia. The site is located on Redfields Lane close to the A287.
This 60 bed home will offer nursing frail elderly care and also care to people with dementia. Situated on the junction of Spring Lane and Worcester Road, the site is close to the centre of town and approximately half a mile from Malvern Wells train station.
Final completion due May 2008.
