Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson's is a degenerative disease of the brain that affects the nerve cells involved in movement. It is caused by the loss of brain cells that produce dopamine, an important neurotransmitter (a chemical that carries signals between the neurons in the brain), that enables us to perform smooth, coordinated movements.

We offer specialist Parkinson's Disease provision at:

Mali Jenkins Specialist Residential Home, Walsall, West Midlands
Himley Mill Nursing Home, Dudley, West Midlands

In addition, many of our other homes are able to offer care to people with Parkinson's Disease, and you may wish to speak to your local home as well. Search for your local care home.
